Looking at historical data:
From 1995 to 1996, the U.S. government shut down for 21 days, and the S&P rose about 4.0% in the month following the shutdown.
In 2013, the U.S. government shut down for 17 days, and the S&P rose about 4.5% in the following month.
From 2018 to 2019, there was a record-breaking 35-day shutdown, and the S&P rose 5% in the month after it ended.
Overall, since 1990, after 6 major U.S. government shutdowns, the S&P has historically risen an average of 1% to 4% in the first month and 3% to 7% within three months.
History doesn’t always repeat itself, but I think this time might not be an exception. Of course, this is just my personal judgment, and my judgment might not be correct. I feel like the rebound could happen as early as tonight or as late as next week.
As always, I might not be right—this is just my own opinion. So when prices drop, I buy. I make sure I always have low-cost BTC in my hands.
