I chaired a virtual meeting on the current situation in Libya in my capacity as the Chairperson for the Peace and Security Council for the month of July. The secretariat issued a communique, however, I made seven points on the situation: 1. To thank H.E. President Denis Sassou Nguesso for the great work done so far as the chairman of the high-level committee on Libya. 2. ⁠We demand that the ceasefire be maintained because fighting will not bring any solutions. 3. ⁠No meddling by foreign countries. 4. Foreign fighters and mercenaries to leave Libya. 5. ALL Libyans should participate in the dialogue under President Denis Sassou Nguesso and the other facilitators. 6. Have elections where all Libyans participate as a solution to the problem of Libya, as it has been for all other countries. 7. It is a shame that Africa has allowed this criminal activity to go on, we ought to get together and do something about Libya.(Yoweri K Museveni)
