Beisen Te: There was a lot of preparation work before the talks with China. He had a separate meeting with the Chinese Vice Premier. The Stockholm talks focused on the economic framework, and China was a bit too hasty in suspending the 90 day talks. The control of rare earths produced in China is somewhat clumsy. I urge China to shift towards a consumer economy and stay away from manufacturing. China has refuted the United States' urging on Russian oil. Regarding oil, China stated that it is a sovereign country and I would not be surprised if Europe imposed tariffs on Chinese products. Everyone can see the development trend of trade agreements. I won't say that China is in a passive state, but more tariffs may be needed to prompt China to change. We don't know what the situation will be like within 90 days, but the good news is that we are having a conversation.
