Holy crap, OpenAI had an insider mole, and they ended up getting caught by their own AI. You really can’t guard against this kind of thing
This dude is something else—allegedly installed a bugging device in OpenAI’s executive meeting room to eavesdrop on top-secret company info.
The investigation also found that chatbot accounts linked to him had previously researched how to make recording devices, encrypt storage, and enable remote access.
After discovering the bugging device, OpenAI used their own AI to analyze the equipment and trace its origin, eventually pinpointing this guy. The FBI then stepped in and arrested him.
Man, using AI to figure out how to eavesdrop, only to get busted by AI in the end.
Isn’t this basically the real-life version of “using one’s own spear against their shield”?
Even a screenwriter wouldn’t dare come up with something this wild
