[Cipher Digital Plans to Issue $850 Million Convertible Bonds to Boost AI Data Center Development]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Nasdaq-listed company Cipher Digital plans to raise $850 million through the issuance of zero-coupon convertible bonds to fund its Barber Lake project and the expansion of its high-performance computing (HPC) data center operations. Cipher Digital stated that the private placement size could be increased to $1 billion if initial purchasers exercise their additional purchase options, which would result in an additional $150 million in bonds being issued. Additionally, the company plans to convert a portion of its 1.75% coupon convertible bonds maturing in 2030 into common stock.
The company has previously adjusted the project plan for its Barber Lake data center in Colorado City, Texas, signing agreements with Fluidstack and an undisclosed AI lab to extend the project contract term from 10 years to 20 years. The expected contract revenue has been revised upward from $3.8 billion to over $9 billion. (Theenergymag)
