I'm someone who takes advice seriously. Yesterday, a friend mentioned that the memory on my Mac Studio was a bit low, and since this model doesn’t allow memory upgrades later, I decided to return it. Returning stuff in Singapore is pretty easy—just make a call to verify your details, explain the reason for the return, and it gets approved. Within three business days, someone will come to pick it up.
Singapore’s return policy allows for no-questions-asked returns within 14 days. As long as it’s within 14 days and you don’t want it anymore, you can apply for a return. At the time, AI even suggested I use it for 10 days first as a kind of test for future use. But I figured if I’m going to return it, I might as well do it decisively. No point in holding onto it for a few extra days.
A lot of friends suggested I go for the 128GB memory version, but after looking into it, I thought I might as well go straight for the 256GB memory version, which costs about $13,000. Then I saw that a 512GB memory version is coming out in mid-to-late October. I did the math and figured I might as well go all-in. But even the 256GB version won’t ship until February 2027, so who knows if the 512GB version will arrive before the Year of the Dog.
Impulse buying really is the devil. I’ve already forgotten why I even wanted to buy this Mac Studio in the first place.
