"Holy crap, turns out CryptoBilis was sold to hackers back in March?!
CryptoBilis has been Ledger's official authorized distributor in Southeast Asia for years, but the latest disclosed company records show that the company was fully acquired as early as March this year. The original founding team completely exited management and can no longer access the company backend!
The buyer, named Jiaming, registered in Heilongjiang Province, China, now owns 100% of the company shares.
The weirdest part? A former co-founder revealed that the original shareholders were bound by a confidentiality agreement until October 19, preventing them from disclosing the ownership change earlier.
Details like the acquisition price, the buyer's full identity, and the complete contract have yet to be publicly confirmed.
This is seriously chilling:
March: Company changes ownership
August: New shareholder holds 100%
October 9: Massive crypto theft exposed, Ledger urgently halts this distributor's sales and shipments.
If this really was a premeditated crime, the execution is next-level.
If it’s eventually confirmed, the crypto market just gained another risk, and hackers have a new attack method: acquisition attacks.
DeFi apps, wallets, exchanges, public chains—any of them could be acquired and then completely compromised by hackers.
