[Dragonfly Partner Questions 'Bunker Mode': Address Migration Cannot Solve the Risk of AI Cracking Cryptographic Signatures] Odaily Planet Daily News – Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi stated that the 'bunker mode' proposed by Ethereum researcher Justin Drake to address the risk of AI cracking cryptographic signatures falls under 'cryptographic doomerism.' He believes that migrating tokens to new addresses is not a true solution. Qureshi explained that 'bunker mode' can only protect assets that have not been transferred from the new address. If tokens in other addresses are attacked and sold off in large quantities, those assets could still lose their value. He suggested that blockchain networks adopt a 'Cryptographic Recovery Mode,' which uses a hash-based backup signature scheme to allow users to pre-bind recovery mechanisms. In the event of cryptographic signatures being cracked, validators could assist in recovering assets. Previously, Ethereum researcher Justin Drake warned that with the rapid advancement of AI's mathematical capabilities, the ECDSA signature algorithm protecting crypto wallets could face the risk of being cracked in 'months rather than years.' He recommended users gradually migrate funds to new wallets with unexposed public keys. Glassnode data shows that approximately 6.26 million BTC are currently located in addresses with potential risks. (Cointelegraph)
