SoftBank is raising another $100 billion, and Musk went off: 'Only fools would give them money!'
Why is Musk so bearish on SoftBank? Just take a look at Masayoshi Son's recent moves.
On October 1, SoftBank completed an additional $30 billion investment in OpenAI, bringing their total investment to $64.6 billion, securing about a 13% stake.
To raise funds, they issued $11.1 billion in high-yield bonds in September, with some bonds offering a coupon rate as high as 9.75%.
And right at this time, OpenAI was exposed to have an annualized revenue of about $50 billion as of the end of September—$20 billion less than the $70 billion figure previously circulating in the market.
Musk had already publicly questioned SoftBank back in 2025 when Stargate was announced, saying they never actually delivered on the massive funding they advertised.
Looks like the feud between Musk and Sam isn’t ending anytime soon. Keep the roasting coming
