**[Data Center Company Firmus Seeks $3 Billion in Funding After Shelving IPO Plans]**
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on October 9, sources revealed that data center company Firmus, backed by NVIDIA (NVDA.O), and its advisors are in talks with existing investors to raise $2 billion to $3 billion through private financing. Previously, the company abandoned its IPO plans, which had been expected to become one of the largest public offerings in Australia.
Like many so-called "next-generation cloud service providers" (neoclouds), Firmus needs to continuously raise funds to advance its ongoing data center projects. Existing investors had previously planned to subscribe to about half of the funds Firmus aimed to raise through its original IPO, which may help expedite the completion of this funding round.
Some sources indicated that the financing structure has not yet been finalized and may involve a combination of equity financing and debt financing. They did not disclose whether NVIDIA would participate in this round of funding. (Jin10)
