[Marinade Discloses DAO Voting Vulnerability: Attacker Amplifies MNDE Voting Power to Submit Two Malicious Proposals, No Funds Lost] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 1, Solana staking protocol Marinade disclosed that on September 25, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the DAO voting mechanism, causing a small amount of MNDE to be counted as significantly higher voting power. The attacker submitted two malicious proposals: one to falsify MIP-23 to replace the voting mechanism, and another attempting to transfer DAO treasury funds. Marinade stated that MNDE holders rejected both proposals, and the DAO Council exercised its veto power within approximately six hours. At the time, there were still nearly four days before the proposals could be executed, so no funds were transferred. mSOL, native staking, and SAM were unaffected. The team has deployed a temporary fix to prevent abnormal amplification of voting power and will release a permanent code fix.
