The French parliament is currently reviewing the 2027 budget and plans to include the conversion of cryptocurrencies into stablecoins regulated by the European Union's Crypto Asset Market Regulation (MiCA) in the 31.4% capital gains tax from January 1, 2027; Francois Volpoet, CEO of Chainalysis France, warned that this measure may prompt traders to turn to stablecoins and offshore channels that are difficult to monitor and outside the EU regulatory scope. On October 7th, the Finance Committee of the French Parliament passed relevant amendments and on October 9th, supported measures such as requiring self managed encrypted wallets to declare assets of at least 100000 euros and including encrypted assets in the scope of departure tax; The Finance Committee subsequently rejected the government's 2027 budget revenue portion with 31 votes to 3, and the relevant encrypted tax amendments need to be submitted to the entire National Assembly for reconsideration. The revenue portion vote is expected to be held on October 20th, and all measures have not yet become law.
