Big decision coming up: the Fed's interest rate decision at 2 AM on Thursday. Another market-moving event—better to play it safe with your trades lately, don’t get too aggressive.
Right now, the market generally expects August core CPI to be 0.3% month-on-month, higher than the forecasted 0.2%. Inflation is showing signs of stickiness again, and rising oil prices are continuing to push inflation pressure higher.
On top of that, the previously released non-farm payroll data was super strong, showing the economy has enough resilience. Many are betting on a 25 basis point rate hike.
Personally, I’m leaning toward rates staying unchanged. What do you guys think?
