[Microsoft Releases Interim Code of Conduct to Restrict AI Model Usage]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Microsoft (MSFT.O) has released an interim code of conduct imposing restrictions on artificial intelligence models, just days after leaders from Anthropic and OpenAI agreed to slow down development. The company aims to be seen as a responsible AI participant and is one of the leading cloud service providers.
'We’ve received feedback from people who want to see clearer commitments: that AI should always serve humanity and not attempt to replace it,' said Mustafa Suleyman, who oversees the company’s model development, in an interview with CNBC. 'We’ve received a lot of feedback emphasizing that AI should not create dependency, should not flatter, but should always enhance human judgment, autonomy, and agency.'
Suleyman noted that although these guidelines have been in development for about five months, Microsoft chose to release them now in light of recent discussions. (CNBC)
