According to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. federal authorities are preparing to file lawsuits over an insider trading case involving prediction markets. The investigation targets include a U.S. military-affiliated individual who profited over $1 million from trading contracts related to military attacks in Iran and Venezuela on Polymarket, as well as a KPMG employee accused of betting on whether specific publicly listed companies' quarterly profits would exceed market consensus. The case could be filed as early as this fall, though no final decision has been made yet. The Manhattan and Washington federal prosecutors' offices, along with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), are all involved in the investigation. Polymarket stated that it is analyzing trades to identify signs of illegal activity and has reported approximately 100 digital asset wallets to authorities based on abnormal trading patterns. https://(wublock123.com)/news/us-military-affiliated-personnel-kpmg-staff-insider-trading-prediction-market-67368
