I just read an article introducing the concept of EA (Effective Altruism, abbreviated as EA). Turns out, the guy with the wild hair, SBF, is a devoted believer in this philosophy. That’s why he made such massive investments/donations in various AI and medical projects. And it’s also why he only pursued the 'greater good' (beneficial for the future of humanity), while tolerating the idea of sacrificing the interests of current users in the name of future altruism... Obsessively believing that the losses caused by misappropriation were less important than future technological advancements. This ultimately led to the collapse of FTX and made him one of the biggest fraudsters in global financial history, with the largest case amount and most egregious nature.
