[South Korean Media: Samsung Secretly Researching Feasibility of U.S. Listing, Company Previously Denied Related Plans] BlockBeats News, July 15 — According to South Korean media outlet Bloter, sources have revealed that Samsung Electronics has begun internal research on various plans for issuing ADRs (American Depositary Receipts) in the United States and has started evaluating related operational procedures. Bloomberg reported on July 14 that Samsung Electronics has held preliminary discussions with multiple investment banks regarding a potential U.S. listing through ADR issuance. Samsung Electronics responded by stating that it is not considering listing in the U.S. market through ADR issuance. However, market insiders believe that Samsung's denial does not entirely rule out the possibility of ADR issuance in the future. Despite the company's denial of such plans, under the directive of its management, relevant business departments have started assessing the potential costs, benefits, and required procedures for issuing ADRs. On July 15, semiconductor industry sources disclosed that the company's management recently instructed relevant departments to study whether a feasible framework for ADR issuance could be designed. As part of the research, Samsung Electronics personnel have reached out to SK Hynix, which recently completed ADR issuance and listed on Nasdaq, to gather insights. (JinShi)
