[Zuckerberg Denies Meta's Excess Computing Power, Says Developing Cloud Business Has Commercial Potential]
According to Sina Finance, Meta Platforms Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that Meta needs as much computing power as possible. However, amid the shortage of computing power required for AI development and operations, he is also considering whether leasing part of Meta's AI infrastructure to external clients could create more value. In an interview, Zuckerberg said: 'Currently, the market is offering very high prices for computing power. In some cases, instead of keeping it for internal use, it might be more cost-effective to lease it out or consider similar transactions.' Earlier this month, it was reported that Meta is planning to launch a cloud computing business, aiming to directly generate revenue by leveraging the company's data centers and other computing power partners. Zuckerberg stated that the opportunity to develop a cloud business 'has always been there, and we can pursue it anytime we want.'
