The shadow of the Taiko hack hasn’t cleared yet, and now its close companion, the once-hailed zkRollup pioneer @loopringorg, has posted a farewell letter: Sorry, we failed. Here’s my summary: 1/ The Loopring L2 chain has been taken offline and stopped producing blocks. The relayer (essentially the sequencer) operated by the official team has been shut down and will no longer submit transactions to Ethereum L1. 2/ Assets on L2 cannot currently be withdrawn because we’ve upgraded the contract. Users can’t bypass the relayer to directly submit transactions to L1. Only whitelisted addresses authorized by us can withdraw assets. 3/ We won’t rug. We’ll take a snapshot of your L2 assets and distribute them in bulk to your L1 addresses within about 2 weeks. We’ll cover the gas fees. 4/ Assets under 10 USDT will be forfeited. Thank you all.
