[South Korean Media: Samsung and SK Group Expected to Announce Investment Plans Worth Up to 2,000 Trillion KRW (Approximately $1.3 Trillion)]
Odaily Planet Daily News – According to South Korea's *Economic Daily* on Monday, as part of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's flagship industrial strategy, Samsung Group and SK Group are preparing to announce plans to invest a total of up to 2,000 trillion KRW (approximately $1.3 trillion) over the next decade. The report states that Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to build 4 to 5 semiconductor factories each in the Gwangju region. The report adds that Samsung also plans to construct a chip packaging plant in Chungcheongnam-do, while SK Hynix will expand its NAND factory in Chungcheongbuk-do. (Jin10)
