[French Cryptocurrency Platform Paymium Receives EU MiCA License Issued by AMF]
According to Le Figaro, French cryptocurrency platform Paymium has announced that it has obtained the official EU MiCA license issued by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), allowing it to continue providing crypto asset trading services within the EU after the new regulations take effect. Founded in 2011, the company claims to be the only platform operating a cryptocurrency exchange in France, with over 230,000 global clients, including individuals and institutions. The report noted that MiCA will come into full effect by the end of 2024, and platforms that fail to secure authorization from their national regulatory authorities by June 30 will be forced to cease operations. As of now, only about 20 companies in France have been approved, approximately 50 have yet to submit applications, and around 200 companies across Europe have been certified.
