According to a report by Nikkei Asia, Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Sokha, has hired a U.S. law firm in an attempt to remove his name from a U.S. congressional bill targeting global scam networks. Public filings reveal that the legal and lobbying services cost over $250,000, with work including communication with the U.S. Treasury, Congress, and media. Sar Sokha denies any connection to scam networks. A spokesperson for Cambodia's Ministry of Interior stated that hiring the lawyers was to protect Sar Sokha himself, the Ministry of Interior, and Cambodia's reputation. Previously, a U.S. congressional bill had listed Sar Sokha and several Cambodian officials as potential sanction targets, citing alleged involvement in online scams targeting Americans. https://(wublock123.com)/news/cambodia-interior-minister-hires-us-law-firm-to-fight-fraud-network-claims-62885
