According to Reuters, Malaysia's Ministry of Home Affairs has launched an investigation into the digital nomad community Network School, founded by former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan. The community is accused of hosting Israeli citizens who entered using passports from other countries. Authorities will verify the identities and nationalities of those involved, the validity of their travel documents, and their purposes for entering the country. Malaysia prohibits entry to holders of Israeli passports, but there is no law barring individuals with dual citizenship from entering using non-Israeli passports. Network School was established in 2024 and is reportedly located in Forest City, Johor, Malaysia. The Johor state government will also review whether the community complies with local regulations regarding business licenses, building usage, and operational activities.
