Ripple stated that AI agents can pay for computational costs, settle invoices, and complete transactions without human intervention. Traditional payment pathways designed for manual processes struggle to meet the demands for rapid settlement and predictable outcomes. The toolkit also supports payments based on the x402 protocol, facilitating native internet settlements using XRP and the stablecoin Ripple USD (RLUSD). The IC3 research team pointed out that even with the integration of blockchain infrastructure, AI agents will still rely on humans and underlying systems, and will not become fully autonomous or anonymous entities.
