I think being a permabull and having a long-term mindset are serious personality flaws during a bear market.
The permabull mindset makes me focus only on bullish opportunities while ignoring bearish ones. Even when certain levels are clearly key resistances or critical breakdown points, I tend to dismiss them and still focus on bullish opportunities. Ironically, in a bear market, bullish opportunities often carry significant risks.
The long-term mindset makes me focus only on big-picture targets and levels, but most of the time, when those targets aren’t reached, profitable positions turn into losses or even liquidations.
This reflects in my personality as being not very adaptable, overly straightforward, and not great at handling complex relationships. I tend to be lazy, focusing only on long-term goals while ignoring short-term changes.
These two mindsets usually lead to significant losses for me during bear markets, along with a lot of mental stress. However, this bear market hasn’t been as mentally taxing because I already let go of everything in one go on October 11.
That said, this way of thinking has its pros and cons. During bull market cycles, for example, when $BTC was still at $23K and others were focused on support and resistance levels, I was already looking at the $100K-$120K monthly target. The same goes for some major altcoins—I could ride them from start to finish. Because I look further ahead, I can hold until the final target is reached, avoiding the wear and tear of constant short-term trades.
If anyone has suggestions on how I can adjust my rigid mindset, I’d love to hear them.
As for my latest market thoughts, I’m still referencing the previous cycle. The price action and indicator structure are pretty similar. We’re currently in Area B, and if the pattern continues, it suggests the bottom is either here or not far off. I’ve tried buying some leverage around the $6K range again, with stop-losses set at the entry price. For spot positions, I’m buying in batches and leaving the rest to time.
