[Sources: OPEC+ May Raise Production Target by Approximately 188,000 Barrels/Day Starting in July]
BlockBeats News, June 7, according to CNBC citing three OPEC+ sources, despite the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran hindering several member countries of the organization from increasing oil production, OPEC+ is still expected to agree on Sunday to raise its oil production target for the fourth time in just a few months. The seven core member countries of OPEC+ increased their production quotas by nearly 600,000 barrels/day between April and June. In fact, due to export cuts by Gulf member countries, the organization's production has already significantly declined. According to OPEC data, the average production in April was 33.19 million barrels/day, down from 42.77 million barrels/day in February. Sources indicate that these seven member countries are likely to decide on Sunday to raise the production target by approximately 188,000 barrels/day starting in July, matching the increase in June.
