[U.S. M&A Total in the First Half of 2026 Hits Record High, Reaching $1.45 Trillion, Up 75% Year-on-Year]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on July 7, data from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) shows that the total value of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) involving U.S. companies from January to June 2026 (as of June 24, including partial funding) reached $1.4467 trillion, a 75% year-on-year increase, setting a new record for the highest M&A volume in the first half of the year since data became traceable in 2002. The total announced M&A transactions in the U.S. during the first half of 2026 hit an all-time high for the same period. With the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), corporate consolidation in the technology and energy sectors continues to accelerate. The deregulation under the Trump administration in the U.S. has also fueled the M&A boom.
