This morning, we officially opened the new Troy Bridge, restoring an important connection between the communities of Manchester and Trelawny.
The original bridge was built in 1869 and became an important part of daily life for generations of Jamaicans. It connected families, farmers, students, churches and businesses, supporting movement and community life across parish boundaries.
The opening of this new bridge signals the restoration of a vital route that residents have long depended on. It provides safe and reliable access for those who travel through the area each day and supports the continued growth and development of these communities.
Today, we celebrate reconnection and the importance of infrastructure that serves our people.(Andrew Holness)
