[Iran's Supreme Leader Advisor Reaffirms: Iran and Oman Hold Sovereignty Over the Strait of Hormuz] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 6, an advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader reiterated Iran's sovereignty claim over the Strait of Hormuz during an interview with CNN. He stated that Iran and Oman hold sovereignty over this critical waterway, which, prior to the war, served as a transit route for one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas. The two countries will jointly manage it. At the same time, he avoided characterizing the proposed charges on vessels passing through the strait as a 'toll fee,' instead stating that Iran would collect maintenance fees, as the cost of managing the strait should not be borne solely by Iran.
