25-year-old California crypto dealer Adam Iza (nicknamed 'The Godfather') pleaded guilty on June 1 to orchestrating a failed kidnapping plot targeting a Connecticut couple. The plan aimed to extort 4,100 BTC allegedly stolen by their son, worth approximately $245 million. U.S. prosecutors are seeking a minimum 14-year sentence during his sentencing on August 12. Reports also state that Iza admitted to wire fraud, tax evasion, and hiring off-duty police officers for illegal surveillance and extortion in a separate California case, where prosecutors are pushing for a 35-year sentence.
