Insurance companies offering loans to patients to help them meet their deductible, should be illegal. It’s a shakedown waiting to happen. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/11/business/aca-health-care-costs-medical-debt.html Most hospitals are Non Profit and ALL Non Profit Hospitals must have charity care programs for their patients. https://www.moneymanagement.org/blog/charity-care-in-hospitals You can apply, you can asked for reduced pricing you can afford. You can get an interest free loan. There are a variety of options ( and if you income is under 400pct of FPL, it might be free ) Having ins companies make money this way is wrong.   They have first access to the patient. They will tell them to borrow from them, rather than use charity care. In the most fucked up way that The insurance companies OFTEN do business , nothing would stop them from saying “you missed a payment on your loan, so we are not paying for your heart transplant “ It’s a disaster waiting to happen. End it now. @BernieSanders @BillCassidy @RonJohnsonWI @HawleyMO @CMSinnovates(Mark Cuban)
