[SoftBank Plans $300 Million Investment in Robotics Startup 'Agile Robots']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 2, German industrial robotics startup 'Agile Robots' is in talks with investors, including SoftBank Group, to raise approximately $800 million in new funding. Currently, investors are seeking companies that apply artificial intelligence technology in real-world scenarios. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that SoftBank is negotiating to contribute over $300 million. Previously, the company participated in Agile Robots' first round of investment. The negotiations are still in the early stages, and the final amount and terms are subject to change.
Over the past year, funding and valuations for robotics startups have grown significantly. As artificial intelligence software becomes increasingly widespread, investors are recognizing the potential of applying this technology in practical scenarios such as manufacturing, logistics, and engineering. According to data from PitchBook, global investment in this sector more than doubled year-over-year in 2025, reaching $27.6 billion.
