The U.S. has already deployed nuclear-capable bombers in six European countries (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, and the United Kingdom). However, U.S. officials have recently signaled an 'open attitude' toward additional deployments beyond these six countries. This move would involve allowing more countries to host the so-called U.S. 'dual-capable aircraft' (DCA)—fighter jets capable of carrying out nuclear strike missions. At the same time, it was noted that there is no immediate urgency to expand the U.S. nuclear sharing agreement.
