According to Chainalysis, the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated its sanctions list against the extremist group 'Islamic State Khorasan Province' (ISIS-K), adding 134 cryptocurrency wallet addresses as identifiers. These include 131 TRON addresses and 3 Monero addresses. Chainalysis revealed that since 2023, these TRON addresses have received over $1.4 million and transferred out more than $880,000, with significant transactions involving mainstream service platforms. Some addresses were even linked to transfers to Syrian cryptocurrency exchanges. Tether has frozen the assets of all 131 TRON addresses.
Meanwhile, OFAC has also sanctioned two Brazilian nationals and four companies linked to the Brazilian criminal organization Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), stating that the group used cryptocurrency to transfer over $30 million in illicit U.S. earnings back to Brazil.
