EigenCloud Founder: Team Members Reproduce 80% of Google's Unpublished Quantum Achievements Using AI Agents

Foresight News reports that EigenCloud founder Sreeram Kannan tweeted that two students from his team reproduced approximately 80% of Google's unpublished quantum breakthrough results over the weekend using AI Agents. One undergraduate, Gautham Anant, achieved about a 2x improvement in existing quantum cryptographic circuits, while another 18-year-old researcher, Gajesh, further enhanced the results to 80% of Google's unpublished achievements by leveraging a custom Agent cluster.
The results focus on elliptic curve point addition circuits, which are a core operation in Shor's algorithm for breaking ECDSA (the signature scheme used by Bitcoin and other assets). Sreeram Kannan also announced the launch of the first open challenge, the Quantum ECC Addition Challenge, inviting more participants and their Agents to optimize the results. He further revealed plans to collaborate with Stanford University's Dan Boneh, Ethereum Foundation's Justin Drake, and others to introduce more open challenges in the field of mathematics.
Previously, Google's Quantum AI team demonstrated that elliptic curve cryptography could be broken with far fewer resources than expected and verified their results using zero-knowledge proofs, though the specific algorithms were not disclosed.
