[The Review of the U.S. CLARITY Act May Be Delayed Until July, Affecting the Probability of Final Passage in August]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett posted on the X platform stating that due to internal disagreements within the Republican Party over the Border Security Coordination Act, the U.S. Senate was unable to advance the relevant agenda before the Memorial Day recess. As a result, the crypto market structure bill, the CLARITY Act, will need to compete for Senate voting time again after Congress reconvenes in early June. The current Senate schedule is already very tight, with pending matters such as the Housing Act, the Agriculture Act, and the June 12 deadline for the FISA Act. Therefore, the review of the crypto market structure legislation is likely to be postponed until July, which could affect its probability of final passage before the August recess. It is reported that staff from the Senate Agriculture Committee and Banking Committee have already begun coordinating and integrating the bill text behind the scenes, with technical drafting work set to continue during the recess.
