Republican congressmen push bill to restrict members of Congress from participating in predictive market betting
According to a report by Golden Finance, on June 18th, a Republican congressman in the United States is preparing to propose a clause that would prohibit members of Congress and their families from betting on predictive markets related to policy, politics, and elections. The provision proposed by Wisconsin Republican Congressman Bryan Steil will be added to a bill currently under review. The bill will prohibit members of Congress from purchasing new individual stocks unless they are purchased using dividends from existing holdings.
