The statement also stated that the United States has cooperated with some countries in the region to launch airstrikes on civilian areas along the coast of Iran's Hamir, Siryk, and Geshem islands. The statement stated that the Iranian armed forces have launched a counterattack against US military vessels east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar Port, claiming to have caused "significant losses".
