**[U.S. and Iran May Be Close to Reaching a Temporary Agreement]**
Odaily Planet Daily reports that the United States and Iran may be nearing a temporary agreement. Several core demands previously proposed by the U.S., such as Iran suspending nuclear activities, limiting its missile program, and ceasing support for so-called "regional proxies," have not been included in the draft agreement.
This still-developing agreement centers on a short-term memorandum of understanding, only one page long, rather than a comprehensive peace agreement. This reflects the deep divisions between the two sides and indicates that the agreement is merely a transitional step.
According to informed officials, Iran is reviewing the draft agreement, which aims to halt hostilities while leaving the most contentious issues to be resolved later. Sources and officials indicate that the agreement will consist of three phases: first, formally ending hostilities; second, resolving the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz; and third, initiating a 30-day negotiation window to strive for a broader agreement.
The agreement fails to address key U.S. demands, such as Iran suspending nuclear activities and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, it does not mention several demands previously proposed by the U.S. but rejected by Iran, such as limiting Iran's missile program and ceasing support for groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, referred to as "proxy forces" by the U.S. (Xinhua News Agency)
