[US Media: Iran Implements New Hormuz Strait Regulations, Requires Ships to Report to "Persian Gulf Strait Administration" Before Passage] According to CNN, a document reveals that Iran has established a series of new rules for ships wishing to pass through the Hormuz Strait, disregarding U.S. warnings and continuing its efforts to institutionalize control over the waterway. The document, titled "Ship Information Declaration," was issued by Iran's newly formed "Persian Gulf Strait Administration" (PGSA), requiring all transiting vessels to complete it to ensure safe passage. The PGSA document contains over 40 questions, asking ships to declare their name, identification number, former names, country of origin, and destination. It also requires the declaration of registered shipowners, operators, crew nationality information, and cargo details. The information must be submitted via email prior to crossing the strait.
