According to Decrypt, a Puerto Rican crypto whale filed a lawsuit in the San Francisco federal court this week, accusing Coinbase of refusing to release funds that were stolen in 2024 and later recovered. The case involves a massive phishing attack that occurred in August 2024, where the "Inferno Drainer" group stole over $55 million worth of Ethereum stablecoin DAI. The plaintiff claims that an on-chain investigation agency they hired successfully traced the stolen funds to a Coinbase account, and Coinbase confirmed in December 2024 that it had identified and frozen the funds. However, the plaintiff alleges that, even after a year and a half, Coinbase continues to refuse to return the funds, citing the need for a court order. Coinbase has yet to respond to the allegations. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/news-60621
