[South Korean Crypto Exchange Bithumb Announces Adoption of Post-Quantum Cryptography Technology]
According to the Korea Economic Daily, South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb has announced plans to adopt post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology to mitigate the risk of quantum computers potentially breaking existing encryption systems in the future. Bithumb intends to apply PQC technology comprehensively, from virtual asset wallet management to identity authentication systems, with a focus on protecting customers' private keys. The company will collaborate with security technology firm ATON to encrypt all stages of data processing, including input, authentication, transmission, and storage. Additionally, Bithumb will enhance its real-time monitoring system to detect new types of hacking attacks and abnormal trading patterns that may exploit quantum computing.
