[Deutsche Bank: The Federal Reserve may signal a hawkish stance by removing the word 'additional']
Golden Finance reported on April 29 that Federal Reserve observers do not expect significant changes to the Fed's statement, but they note there may be some subtle adjustments. For example, officials might revise their description of the labor market to acknowledge recent data indicating that, despite reduced hiring activity, the labor market has stabilized. Some officials also hope the Fed will clearly state that the next policy move is likely to be a rate hike—rather than a rate cut—due to heightened inflationary pressures stemming from the Iran situation. To suggest this perspective, officials could slightly adjust the phrasing regarding 'the magnitude and timing of additional adjustments to the benchmark interest rate.' Economists at Deutsche Bank wrote in a report: 'A hawkish statement might remove the word "additional," as this term implies a dovish inclination, essentially signaling the continuation of a series of rate cuts.' The Federal Reserve implemented three rate cuts by the end of 2025. (Dongxin News Agency)
