[U.S.-Iran Tensions Escalate, U.S. Treasury Yields Edge Higher]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports: On April 20, according to CNBC, U.S. Treasury yields edged higher on Monday due to escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield rose to 4.267%, the 2-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed to 3.73%, while the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield remained largely flat. Previously, Iran announced last Friday that the Strait of Hormuz would be fully open to commercial shipping, but on Saturday, it regained control over passage through the strait. U.S. President Trump stated that U.S.-Iran negotiations would resume on Monday in Islamabad, Pakistan, but Iran's Foreign Ministry indicated that there are currently no plans for a second round of talks with the United States. Investors will also focus this week on crude oil inventory data and initial jobless claims figures.
