[Analyst: Iran's Statement on the Strait of Hormuz Lacks Clear Information]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Shipping industry analysts have stated that the announcement by Iran's Foreign Minister on Friday, declaring the Strait of Hormuz 'completely open' for vessels using Iran-designated routes, does not provide the shipping industry with enough confidence to resume activities through the strait. Richard Meade, editor-in-chief of *Lloyd's List*, commented: 'From a shipping perspective, this is indeed promising, but at present, it does not provide anyone with sufficient clear information to make any immediate decisions.' The statement from Iran's Foreign Minister did not clarify whether Iran still plans to charge transit fees for passing vessels. (Jin10)
