The National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA) Bill, 2026 has been brought to Parliament to guide how Jamaica rebuilds after Hurricane Melissa.
The country is facing serious damage, but also a real opportunity to rebuild in a more organised and stronger way.
International partners have committed about US$6.7 billion in support for recovery, while total damage is estimated at US$12.2 billion. Because of this gap, private investment must also play a key role alongside government funding.
NaRRA will help coordinate all recovery efforts, making sure government projects and private sector investments work together in a clear, efficient, and transparent way.
We are rebuilding Jamaica properly and securing a stronger future for all Jamaicans.(Andrew Holness)
