Rowboat is an open-source AI collaborator that builds a knowledge graph from your emails and meetings, then uses it to execute tasks. Most AI tools only search your transcripts and documents on demand, but Rowboat maintains long-term memory. Context accumulates over time, and relationships are clearly defined. All content is stored locally on your machine in plain Markdown format, so you can read and edit it directly. This means: - “Prepare me for my meeting with Alex” → Summarizes past decisions, unresolved issues, and relevant discussion threads into a brief. - “Create a presentation for next quarter’s roadmap” → Generates a PDF using your actual context. - Drafts emails based on your history and commitments. - Captures to-dos and decisions to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. - Voice memos automatically update the knowledge graph. It connects with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Fireflies. At its core is a library compatible with Obsidian—a working memory you can inspect, edit, and trust. The difference between it and other AI assistants is simple: most assistants are in a “cold start” state every time you use them, while Rowboat benefits from compounding effects. Local-first. Open-source. Your data never leaves your machine.
