[US Media: The Pentagon Has Made Detailed Preparations for Deploying Ground Troops in Iran]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on March 21, citing CBS News, multiple sources familiar with the briefings revealed that U.S. Department of Defense officials have made detailed preparations for deploying American ground troops to Iran. The sources stated that as Trump weighs action plans for a U.S.-Israel-led conflict with Iran, senior military commanders have submitted specific requests aimed at preparing for such options.
The sources indicated that Trump has been reviewing whether to deploy ground troops in the region. It remains unclear under what circumstances he would authorize the use of ground forces. On Thursday, when asked about the issue of ground troops in the Oval Office, he told reporters: "No, I’m not deploying troops anywhere," but then added, "If I were to deploy them, I certainly wouldn’t tell you."
Two sources also mentioned that the military has held meetings to prepare for handling Iranian soldiers and paramilitary personnel who might be captured during operations if Trump decides to send U.S. ground troops. This includes discussions on where these Iranians would be sent.
