345-41: House approved Senate legislation despite opposition from 40 Republicans to protest the Senate not passing the GOP's SAVE America Act. The bill, which passed the Senate by voice vote earlier this month, reauthorizes federal funding for small businesses to develop new technologies, which lapsed over 5 months ago on Sept 30th, for 5 more years. The bipartisan bill brokered by Small Business Chair Ernst & Ranking Member Markey would extend the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) & Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs until Sept. 30, 2031. Bill now heads to President Trump.(Craig Caplan)
