Gulf countries and European officials believe it will take six months for the United States to reach an Iran deal
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to Bloomberg, regional officials familiar with the situation said that some Gulf countries and European leaders believe that it may take about six months for the United States and Iran to reach a peace agreement, and advocate extending the current ceasefire to cover this period. These officials stated that leaders of various countries hope to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz to restore energy flow, and privately warned that if the strait fails to resume passage by next month, there may be a global food crisis. They also stated that if the war lasts longer, energy prices may further rise. Officials said that Gulf countries believe that Iran is still seeking to develop nuclear weapons, which has not changed after the US Israel strike on Iran. Therefore, they believe that any peace agreement should prohibit Iran from enriching uranium or possessing long-range ballistic missiles. However, Gulf countries generally oppose the resumption of fighting and hope that the United States can resolve its dispute with Iran through diplomatic channels. (Golden Ten)
